ASA/NSRA ANNOUNCES 2009 CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE
2 Countries - 3 States – 6 racetracks – 10 race dates comprise 2009 race schedule
Portland, OR May 26, 2009 - The American Speed Association/Northwest Sprintcar Racing Association (ASA/NSRA) is pleased to announce its race schedule for 2009. The winged sprinters will run a 10-race schedule at 6 different racetracks, in 3 Northwestern states and Canada. Track lengths vary from the shortest at just .25 mile to the longest track at .686 mile.
May 29 & 30 - Diamond Cup - Meridian Speedway - Meridian, ID (2 separate races over 2 days)
June 13th - Casey Diemert Classic - Douglas County Speedway - Roseburg, OR
July 18th - Spokane County Speedway, Spokane, WA
August 1st - Rebel Jackson Memorial - Ephrata Raceway Park, Ephrata, WA
August 14th & 15th - Daffodil Cup - Western Speedway, Sidney, BC, Canada
August 29th - Don Hein Memorial - Douglas County Speedway - Roseburg, OR
Sept 12 - Rory Price Memorial - Evergreen Speedway - Monroe, WA
Sept 25 & 26 – Championship weekend 2009 - Meridian Speedway-Meridian, ID (2 separate races over 2 days)
Expected to battle for the title in 2009 is returning 2008 champion Matt Hein in the #98h car, 2007 champion Andy Alberding, Jeff Montgomery 2006 champion in the # 33J car, Jake Mann in the # 51 car, Todd Coleman in the # 44 car, R.J. Fronsman returning to the series in the Zema Racing # 25 car, Sierra Jackson in the # 25 car, Justin Mack in the # 17 car, and Greg Middendorf in the 4 car. ASA/NSRA is the most exciting opened wheel racing on the west coast and by far the fastest. NSRA drivers currently hold 22 all time track records at venues throughout the region. These are open wheeled, winged sprint cars running on paved ovals utilizing 700 plus horsepower alcohol-burning engines running on tracks that vary in length from quarter mile to five-eights mile facilities.
